Way back in the fall I photographed Emma and Drew's engagement session in Gettysburg, PA and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this October! It was definitely a chilly day, but these two stuck it out.

Although Emma and Drew live out of state, they knew they wanted to have their engagement session in Gettysburg. Drew is currently an active military member and the couple will be having a military wedding in Gettysburg. As soon as I showed Emma a picture of the McPherson barn, she was sold on the engagement location! Her favorite points were the different textures of the wood, stone and tall grasses.

I always love to find out how my couples met and got engaged and this is one of the best stories I've heard so far. They actually met when Emma noticed drew playing in a West Point Rugby game and asked her brother in law to introduce her. They were introduced and he blew her off! What!? How dare he!? hahaha But lucky for him, 2 years down the road they started dating :-) For the engagement, Drew had planned everything out, a walk in the woods with their pup, Zoey, candles, flowers and a picnic dinner. He actually had a trail of chicken broth laid down so Zoey could find everything on her own. When they found the spot, Emma turned around and Drew was down on one knee! Awwww! So it was only fitting to have Zoey a part of the engagement session! But the funniest part of the story is that Drew had been bitten by a fire ant near his eye while they were packing up the dinner and they spent the night icing his eye that had swollen shut. Not funny for Drew at the time, I'm sure, but the running joke with their family and friends is now that Emma socked him for waiting so long to propose :-)
